jeep wont start/crank

the other day i went out to the jeep after work and it wouldn't start or even try to start. battery says its charged, radio and lights all work but when i turn the key all i hear is the relay click near the clutch pedal and the relay behind the glove box, and thats it. i tried to jump the starter solenoid with a screw driver and the starter spins but does not engage, i tried with the shifter in neutral and the clutch pedal depressed and still if i jump the solenoid it only spins the starter but will not engage. i push started it and it ran fine to get it home. when i got it home i cleaned the battery terminals and the starter connections, also had the starter "only 2 years old" tested at autozone and it seemed to be working fine. any ideas?
im confused at the fact that turning the key it does nothing, jumping the solenoid only spins it but doesn't engage, and last that the starter tests good and the bendix comes out just fine on the test machine.

If it comes out good on the machine, I would suspect a bad/weak battery. Charge overnight with known good charger.

Acid test..... turn on your headlights THEN try to start..... if headlights go out, replace battery.

If it starts, measure the voltage at the battery terminals with a KNOWN good DC voltmeter(multimeter on volts DC). With all accessories (headlights, blower, wipers, yada-yada) turned on it should read SOMEWHERE around 13 volts DC....... if not.... your charging system needs looking at.
