Kachunk sound

I have a feeling it may be a u-joint but what do you think

When i gear down and make a slow turn, like into a driveway, using no brake or gas there is a kachunk sound and a slight jerk.
the sound is definatly in the chassis or driveline and not from the engine

I'm not ASE Certified or anything, but I'd probably suspect the U-Joint as well.

I love the subject of this thread. I had to read it. Good choice.

Jack up the front end so that both tires are off the ground. Try and shake the wheel from top to bottom. Pull and push on it. If it moves in any direction other than side to side for the steering, it's the U-Joint.

I am also not an ASE tech. but I play one on TV.
