Knocking sound when accelerating

So here's my problem. I've got a 2004 jeep TJ and I had a 4" lift kit installed. Now when I change gears and accelerate there's a knocking sound. (like the noise when you accelerate while towing a trailer). Accelerate slowly, no noise. Even when I'm in gear and slow down a bit them speed up it makes that knocking noise (best way to describe it is the sound the trailer makes on the towball when you accelerate with a trailer)
Any suggestions. I can't find anything loose. Top and bottom control arms seem tight. Rear shocks are tight, springs seem fine.

It could be the angle of your driveshafts. Did you lower the transfer case?

Yeah. Dropped it an inch with the drop that came with the kit

It only makes that sound on the initial acceleration. Or if I slowdown enough then accelerate. Doesn't make the noise while driving. Even down the freeway.

It does make sense for the drive shaft angles. Because when u accelerate you rock back increasing angle in the front and vise versa when braking. Use some bright colored paint and spray the shafts wait till almost dry and drive it. After you hear the noise inspect for rubbed paint in skid plate and or yoke and joints hope it works and you find the cause. Good luck

Try pulling up slightly on the transfer case shift lever when you take off. Mine makes a slight knocking when taking off and I narrowed it down to a bushing in the transfer case linkage.

Okay. Brought it to a mates that's more mechanically inclined than me. Of course everything I tried didn't make it click.
Even when I go over pot holes the rear end rattles. Something's loose but I don't know what.

Fixed it! One of the lower control arm bolts on the rear axel was loose. Tightened it and now NO NOISE.

Who was your mechanic?

I'd make sure NOT to use him again!!

Glad you found the problem before something serious happened!
