Knocking when accelerating in 2H, but not in 4H...

I recently bought an '00. It makes a series of knocks when accelerating from a stand-still when I am in 2H. I put it in 4H and no knocks... I initially changed out my front U-joints and hubs (other issues as well). It's originating from under the driver's side next to the auto trans. I appreciate any insight.

Take a look at the TC shifter when it knocks. It shakes a bit and that causes the noise.

No shifter wobble... and it doesn't do it in 4wd. I took it to a shop with no resolution (granted they weren't Jeep experts). I guess I'll ignore it until I'm stranded somewhere. Thanks for the help. -Joel

Have you checked the rod that connects to the 4wd shifter and the transfer case under the jeep? Make sure all the bolts on that are tight, Maybe whenever you go back into 2H might not be pushed down all the way...

Thanks for the advice... nothing seems to check out. I guess I'll just turn the radio up until it gets bad enough to be glaringly obvious..
