LED turn signals not working

I installed tube fenders last month and I,m just now getting around to wiring up my turn signals.
I bought a set of 3 wire LED turn signals. (2)Mini 1" Amber 3 LED Custom Marker Turn Signal Lights: eBay Motors (item 400164525768 end time Nov-14-10 21:10:53 PST)

I wired them to the 3 wire turn signal light in the front of the jeep and it was flashing very fast and the blinker only worked when the lights were on.
I removed my turn signal relay and modified it per Stus write up and that fixed the rapid flash.
My problem is that the signals only flash when the lights are turned on. If I swap the red and white wires then the blinker works but the parking lights do not, and it will not flash with the light switch on.

Do I have the wrong type of lights?

What do I need to make these work?

Thanks
Bob

Which wire are you using as your ground wire? The ebay ad states the white is your ground, black is the running and red are your flashers. From your troubleshooting statement of switching the red and white I have to imagine you have it wired wrong.

No problem.
What tube fenders did you go with? I was thinking TnT custom's tube fenders and was thinking I'd do the directionals myself to save a few $$ was wondering where you mounted your directionals

I got the smittybuilts with the 3" flare. So far I really like them. The fit was great and the instructions weren't too bad. I will post some pics of the install when I get home tonight. You can see the fenders in my profile pic from Rausch creek a couple weeks ago.
