I have spent a long time doing research and reading every thread I can on lifts and tires and gears and I have it boiled down to two paths I can take. I currently have a worn out set of 245/75/16s running with 3.73 axel ratio in my 2003 automatic sport with the 4.0. It has more than enough power for now. I am college student so it is more my DD than a wheeler as I don't have much freetime to wheel. I know everyone recommends either BDS or zone as good entry level lift kits. I am torn between a 2 inch BDS lift and buying 265/75/16 duratracs. Or my other option being buying a 3 inch lift from zone as well as front and rear track bars and then buying 285/75/16 duratracs. I know 3.73 would be less than desirable for something almost as large as a 33 but I think it would be manageable with the automatic transmission. The price points are similar and I am just up in the air as far as which direction to go. I appreciate all of your insight in advance, john.

I have a 2" spacer lift on mine with 31" tires. Driveline vibration is minimal, I still get decent mileage, and I've managed to go on some pretty rough trails. I'd like to go bigger, but like the OP, it's my daily, so I really like my setup. If you're like me and like going to the same places guys with a 4" and 33"s go, you can usually manage, but I would definitely recommend investing in some skid plates for the front and rear diffs! I think that's next on my "to-buy" list.
