Lights

Hello there, today I bought my first Jeep, a 1999 Wrangler Sport. Really excited about it! I have a few questions....

1. It came with some lights attached to it that have not been wired to anything, and I would like to know what I'll need to know to get these going. I have included some pictures. The first picture is of one of the two lights mounted near the windshield, with a wire dangling from it, and the other is of two lights mounted on the front bumper. I'm thinking that I'll need to wire them to a switch, but would love some tips on how to do that.

2. There appears to be a leak coming from the front of the Jeep, I think from the steering stabilizer, any tips on how to fix?

Thanks for any help!

To me those look like very very cheap lights. Like buying wire switches and relays may cost what they are worth. Kc's are priced well and have kits that come with all the pre mentioned things. If it were me I'd remove those lights and do with out or put in some new ones for a hundred bucks. If the steering stabilizer is leaking it is about the best broken thing you can have. It's probably still functioning some and doesn't do much. It has to be replaced can't be repaired. Much like a shock. Only you don't need it as much.

And congrats on the Jeep! Welcome to the forum

Lights draw enough wattage that you should use relays in the circuit when wiring them up. Here's a picture of the typical wiring. To do it correctly, you need to know the wattage of the lights, and how many will be on the circuit.
