There are several company's that offer a LA upgrade. Clayton Off road, Rubicon express, Rusty's off road or you can go on line and get a parts breakdown of the lower links and skip plate from pro comp. There are several options floating around.

The kits above are very nice setups but go to Rough Country and there longarm upgrade is alot cheaper and just as nice. For the prices above you can almost buy a whole new longarm from RC,they are nice.

thanks guys. i got in contact with procomp today and they guy basically said i would have to buy the long arm kit, minus the springs and shocks. big whoop, might as well buy a whole kit. looking at your kit there it doesn't look like you had to do any welding, is that the case with your rough country kit? i take it you like it.
thanks again.

edit. just looked at rough country and the price seems right for the upgrade. it suggests i add a slip yoke eliminator kit...what the heck is that? sorry for a dumb question but this is my first jeep.

A slip yoke elim changes the slip from the tailshaft of the transfercase to the driveshaft. It replaces the tailshaft with a fixed yoke and alows for a cv style driveshaft.

look at Clayton Off-Road and Poly Performance long arm kits. top of the line.

alternatively, you could make your own kit...which isn't that hard if you can weld proficiently.

Hey what part of Washington are you from? I live in lakewood. If you have a 4" lift on the jeep already there is probably a pretty good chance that the previous owner had a slip yoke eliminator installed. the best way to tell is to just look up a picture of one and then go look under the jeep. it should be pretty easy to tell.

Also in my openion if you are going to upgrade to a long arm why not spend a little more money and get something good? Nothing against the cheaper lifts as im sure they do alright but if you go the cheap route you will not get the performance or quality out of the long arms that you would if you just spent a little more. I would also like to upgrade to a long arm some day and when the time comes Im pretty sure its going to be from Clayton Offroad. If you bend or break one of there arms they will replace it no questions asked. Cant really beat that and im sure if you bent a rough country arm you would have to replace it on your own dime. clayton also offer all kinds of cool upgrades like a front 3 link and a triangulated rear. Anyways thats just my 2 cents best of luck on making your decision.

NUTnOUT,

check out Rock Krawler kit here. For information about this kit PM me. Use your springs or mix and match to get extra carrying capacity in the rear i.e. RE4.5s in front RK5.5s in rear.
