Looking for Dana 35 left rear axle

Hello,

I have a 2006 Wrangler SE and it needs a left rear axle differential. The dealer wants $500 for it. I was wondering if anyone has a good online source for this part so I can get it cheaper.

Thanks

I have a complete Dana 35 I'm parting out for cheap. Left rear axle differential? Do you need the shaft or ring gear or spider gears? I've never heard that terminology.

Yeah. Sorry. I might be using the wrong words. It's the part connected to the wheel to the shaft? I would definitely be interested in your part. How much? Thanks!

Yea pls tell us number on ^^^^diagram. Sounds like you broke a shaft. The wheel bolts directly to the shafts.

Changing out a rear axel shaft is a piece of cake it can be done out on the trail in under an hour. If it is a shaft you should be able to pick one up at a junkyard for under a hundred.

I don't know if it's the shaft. The car is drivable. I think the axle is just a little bent. When driving behind you can see the left rear wobble a little at low speeds. Its not really noticeable when driving it.

The wheel is easier to bend than the axel are you sure it's not the wheel?

We are on a list for NJ and PA salvage. We are trying to sell it so we don't really want to wait for a used part. No way to tell how long it would be before one becomes available.

We had all the wheels checked. It's already been checked and confided by my mechanic.

Check out Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market searches all your local junkyards for parts. It definitely sounds like an axle shaft. The differential is generally considered that big hunking thing in the center and its innards.

Ok. I spoke to 4wd.com. The Axle shaft is $175.99 and I need RTV sealant @ $5.99 and gear oil 3 @ $16.99. I also need a blower motor fan speed resister but they didn't have it for a 2006. Are these good prices? Seems to be when considering the dealer wants $500.

Better prices but you still need to check your junkyards. This shaft is the same in an Cherokee and a most grand cherokee if you can't find a tj.

Really? I didn't think those would be compatible. It's good to know. Compared to $500 just for the shaft, I am happy to pay that price from 4wd.com. I did go on the Used Auto Parts site and put in my info, but the site only keeps the info for 48 hrs. My mechanic has us on a list as well. We are leaving on vacation in a few days and we want to sell it, so we want to get the car in while we are away. At this point, buying it new is probably more convenient.

Did you want to sell the shaft off your Jeep? Just let me know what you want for it. I'll be ordering my part by this Friday, so please let me know. Thanks

honestly I don't have time to tear it out, box it up and ship it out by friday.

I'd do it if you weren't on such as tight time frame.

Thanks, but I ordered the axle already. It was only $105.99 for the axle shaft. I can't believe Chrysler wanted $500 for the same part? OEM or not. I wanted to get the Jeep into my mechanic before we left on vacation this Saturday. I'm having the parts drop shipped to him. Once the Jeep is fixed it will be in much better shape to sell We got a good number of responses from Craigslist, but when I mentioned the axle, I think they lost interest. Guess I can't blame them. I do have one guy who is local who is waiting for it to be fixed. Wish me luck!

Thanks again
