Question Loose Rocket Arm Nuts

I thought I would throw this out to see if anyone has ever heard this happening. On a recent trip from Dallas to San Diego. In Deming, NM I noticed a tapping noise from the upper front of the engine of my 2006 TJ 4.0 with 6 Speed with 12500 miles. My first thought was a loose rod. I reconnected to motorhome and did not drive until San Diego. Went to the local Jeep dealer. First estimate was $85 to pull the valve cover. Second estimate found nothing and must pull the head, $2000. Third call the same day was, did not pull head, but found ALL nuts on the Rocker Arms were loose. All were torque to factory specs and lock-tight applied. Runs quiet. Problem fixed. Cost $385.00. I check with several other Jeep Dealers and no one could explain how all bolts would be loose. Factory maybe. Anyone else ever experience this. The Jeep did well the rest of the trip without any further incidents. Didn't improve my gas mileage. Thanks. Jim

Sound like somebody didn't finish the job. Maybe it was built on a Friday afternoon.

Lol I saw the title and couldnt wait to see your jeep with Rockets on it...Kinda let down now.....Just poking alittle fun at ya, sounds like quality control had the day off when your ride rolled off the line.
