loosing power

Ok I got a 00 tj 4.0. It has 75000 miles. I got it a little bit ago. And it had 31 10.50 15 on it but they sucked in the woods I mean u could sit on down leaves in 4high and spin. So I but 32 11.50 r15 ok they r mudders. I started noticing I was loosing power when I am crawling up a hill in 1rst gear in 4 high but if I had the petdal to the metal it was fine I. Started to notice this half way up a long steap hill when it about stald out on me. But. My oil pressure is going from 60 to below 20 when I'm doing this. If I'm in 4 low I'm perfectly fine. How could I get a little more power. I got a trip coming up and don't want to be the last one because of the power lost.

I'm usually in 4lo the entire time when off-roading. I use 4hi just for on road when the weather gets nasty.

Regear or put on smaller tires. What gears do you have now? No clue about the oil pressure tho.... :|

4 hi just isn't geared to handle long steep inclines. You gotta use low range. What is your RPM when the oil pressure drops to 20?

Stock TJ's come with a wide range of gears... Depends on how it was ordered from the factory. Crawl under it and look at the tag on the rear axle... the last three #'s are your gears.

Idle oil pressure of 20 psi is good and x2 on the keeping it in 4-lo.
