loud humming in rear

I have a 98 wrangler,loud humming in the rear,when i drive slight hum when i slow down and still in gear loud humming and sometimes i hear a bang any ideas? Thanks

Diff fluid is full black but full,and it a 5 speed I didnt check transfer case fluid,I dont know anything about transfer cases

That's FUNNY ! You need to check u-joints and wheel bearings asap. How many miles? Ring and pinion could be going.

yeah... ^ Plus check out the brakes as soon as you get the wheels off. If you find anything broken in there it might save having to tear into the rear end. Brakes can be a pain if they get a rock in them or crack apart.
