Lower Control Arm Mount

Hello! I love this forum. I've been a lurker for the past year ever since I bought my Jeep and I've gotten tons of useful knowledge and information from it. Onto my question.....

My drivers side lower control arm mount snapped in half. I've seen numerous other threads on this topic and realize that it is a common problem and the recommendation is to have the old, broken mount smoothed down and have one of the heavy duty mounts welded on in it's place (ie Rusty's Heavy Duty Lower Axle Mounts). I had my Jeep towed to a mechanic with the instructions of a new mount/bracket to be installed, but the mechanic just welded the pre-existing broken control arm bracket back together. I didn't get charged for new brackets, just the welding job and alignment, but my concern is......is this safe? And will it hold up? I don't do any off roading, so I'm not hard core or anything, but I just want to make sure that this is fine. I'll post pictures tonight or tomorrow if that'll help.

If his welding job was done properly, it should hold up as well as the OE bracket will.

And a big welcome to WF.
Gone wheeling Friday through Sunday.

When you have a choice, buy American.
