map sensor and o2 sensor?

i have a 98 tj and i would like to know where the map and o2 sensors are? i dont have a manual and how do i know if they need to be replaced? thanks ahead of time for any input..

Here's a good illustration that shows where the MAP sensor is.

Your '98, if it's like my '97, has two 02 sensors. The "upstream" sensor that controls the air-fuel mixture is just below the exhaust header, screwed into the pipe. The "downstream" 02 sensor that only monitors the catalytic converter for proper operation is screwed directly into the cat itself. The cat is located mid-Jeep, near the transfer case.
