missing pieces?

Im miss two pieces on eather side of my tailgate that goes to the soft top. I dont know what there call (track?). I cant find it under soft top hardware. looks like two sheetmetal screws hold them on. Im told that the jeep should of had them regardless of not having a soft top or not. O I guess i need to say that i geting a soft top and making sure a got all the parts.

What brand soft top? give the maker a call they do sell individual pieces.

And they are the Tailgate bar guides.

Tailgate retainer brackets are what you're looking for....

Do you have the tailgate bar that slides onto the rear window? If not you need it too.
Here's one place to find them, but shop around, you'll probably find them cheaper...

He's talking about the part where the rear window snaps onto either side. All Wranglers should have come with them (mine did). They're called retainer mounts and can be found online ALONG WITH that rear bar.

1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler Soft Top Hardware Kit - Body Mechanical & Trim - Bestop 97-06 Wrangler Soft Top Hardware Kit - 2329-03006136 - PartsGeek

Search around, but a lot of what you'll find is the Bestop hardware kit.

ANOTHER idea is a junkyard, just snag em off another Wrangler and paint them if you need to.

Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market is your best resource. Search for some local yards then stop by and check.

No problem, it's what we do... Everyone has been in your boat at some point or other. I just went through the whole "soft top missing major parts" thing myself, so it's still pretty fresh in my stale mind...

Just holler if you have any questions at all..

This picture might help you identify everything you have, and what you need...

I THINK the piece that you're talking about is for the "sail" part (next to the zipper) of the soft top to hook under.

Should sit in like this.

Then when the top is on you slide the plastic on the bottom of the top into the rails at the bottom of the brackets.

I completely forgot... Make sure your tailgate bar is facing the right way. It fits both ways, only one is right to enable you to roll it into the brackets.... Sorry, I forgot.
