Motor mounts

First off, I bought Trans Dapt #4213 for my 2.5 and they clearly won't work. One is too narrow and the other is way too wide. Compared them to my neighbors 4.0, and it's the same thing.

So what's the difference between the 2.5 and 4.0 motor mounts and what is another fairly inexpensive other than stock rubber replacements? I know the rubber mounts are really cheap but I want something pretty sturdy without spending a lot of money.

It sounds like they sent you the wrong one made for a 4.0 even though the part # is correct.(surely the warehouse never makes a mistake). I would return it for the correct one. The mount locations are different for the 2 engines. If you can't return it then I would suggest to go with the Brown Dog Offroad MM and sell the other. FYI, that part # is for a stock height Jeep.

I put the Brown Dog 1" motor mount lift on my daughter's jeep when I put a 1" body lift on, and for me they transmit too much vibration and I used the rubber bushing mounts. I can't imagine how much worse the poly bushings would be.
I plan on buying some new stock mounts and some 1" spacers and redoing it later this spring.
This is on a 2.5l by the way. I've heard that it's a lot smoother on the 6 cyl.

Some problem I had with my 2.5 the poly were terrible, I exchanged them for rubber and they weren't any better they are sitting on the shelf now...

My neighbor has a 4.0 and his look identicle to mine and the mounts I bought are still way off when comparing them to his.
