my jeep just wont let my keys go.............

this started about 3 weeks ago.. when i turn off the jeep and try to pull out the keys they get stuck.. the first time it took me 30 minutes to figure out how to get them out... the only way is to open the tilt steering thingie then slam the steering wheel upward then pull out my keys ! :S i fear i might break something after 100 times of doing this :S
n e 1 know how to deal whith that?!?!

Sounds like you need a new ignition switch. Would be better to switch that than break something they way you are currently handling it.

Mine lets my key go, But it will not let it turn to turn on. I have to go back n forth with the key several times before i can turn the key all the way to start it.

My ignition is fine, some, whenever you turn off your jeep you have to push down again and then keep spinning to get key out of... On mine, I can take my keys out while i'm driving with the Jeep on and lock and unlock console and stuff... Really cool.

Had a ford truck the key would come out while driving...also meant it would start with screwdriver or any key/ or flat object that will get a grip. The spare key on my Rubie only works one way. "upside down" won't work. Sounds silly but may be worth a try.

this may be a shot in the dark, but it is worth a try. try spraying some pblaster dry lube in there. i was having trouble with my locks at home. sometimes i couldn't get the key in and sometimes i couldn't get it out. i sprayed some dry lube in there and now they work like new again.

Had similar trouble with my Montero and had to replace the key cylinder assembly.
