OK, new to this wrangler thing, been a CJ guy for years... I bought a lifted jeep bout a year ago. Has a tom woods rear drive shaft in it and Im going to replace all 3 u joints in it.
I found the bad u joint and decided while I have the drive shaft out I'm going to replace all the u joints. I removed the shaft and clamped it into my bench vise to start cleaning...Upon inspection I can see that there is a ball inside the carrier, The fore mentioned 'testicle'.
It appears as though both of the u joints closest to the transfer case have to be removed simultaneously... am I correct in assuming this? I dont want to stress anything upon disassembly, I was wondering if there is an 'order of operation' somewhere that I can refer to in order to complete the task at hand.
