Mystery light on dash

Just bought an 04 Unlimited and there is a small red light in the lower left hand corner of the dash. I can't find it in the manual and have no idea what it does.

It's probably an LED for an aftermarket alarm. If you take a pic and post it here, we can tell you for sure.

Yep, that's for an aftermarket alarm system.

Just took dash off and it's not wired to anything so I guess it's a moot point now
Thanks for input

mine has the same thing in the exact same location. but there is no signs that an aftermarket alarm has ever been hooked up. Mine doesn't actually have a light to it, just that red lense as ill call it.

It may just be a dummy alarm to give the impression that there is a system.

My old YJ had this. Looked like a clear red cap just popped in the dash. I never understood what the reason of it was. If its not lighting up doesn't that mean the alarm is off? I once did buy a dummy led that blinked for one of my other cars.
