Question need 6 speed tranny info

I'm on the hunt for a late model TJ Rubi with a 6sp tranny. Were they only available in 05 and 06, or earlier? Also who was the supplier of these?

Thanks, Bret

I have also seen them in unlimiteds, 04 actually, I was rebuilding one of my 97's after it rolled and was at a dealer for some parts only the dealer had. There was an unlimited out front, 6 speed, 4 wheel discs and D44 rear.

'04 unlimiteds were only availible with an automatic trans. They started putting the six speeds in them in '05.

Here's a Rockcrawler piece on the six speed: http://www.rockcrawler.com/features/..._six_speed.asp
