Need help adjusting door handle

So my driver side door handle must pulled out to its fullest extent to unlatch the door.
Now I have removed my door panel and found the location to adjust it. Though the clip that is attached to the rod has stumped me I guess. The rod it kind of threaded, I guess it may be better described as ribbed.
Has anyone else had to adjust theirs, how does the clip detach from the rod? What are the proper steps for making this adjustment?

Thanks in advance

When I was replacing my door handles, I took a close look at the clip you're talking about and I'm not sure it's adjustable...at least not without breaking that clip off and replacing it or something.

You may just need a new door handle... if it is adjustable, I'll keep following this thread though.

I've got the same issue with some replacement Quadratec door handles. Did you find a way to adjust the rod?
