Well, this is probably going to be long but i'll try to sum it all up.
I will start out saying that i have a 2002 jeep wrangler 6 cylinder, with about 66,000 miles.
About a month ago my engine started to overheat, so i changed the thermostat and flushed the radiator and it ran normal for about 2 weeks. Then i had a long trip from michigan to ohio, well on the way it started to run at about 220, then eventually shot up to redline. I shut to motor off and saw that the coolant was in the overfill, so i waited till the radiator soaked it back up and drove on down the road. I made it home and it didnt overheat, but still ran a little warm. Well the next day i went to start it, and it was misfiring. I went to autozone got new spark plugs, a new radiator cap, and a new thermostat. It seemed to run fine for about a week, and then the same problem came about, So it has been misfiring when i start it up, but if i go down the road a little bit, shut it off and turn it on again it dosent misfire.
Well, i finally just gave it to the jeep dealership, and they did a pressure test on the radiator, and said it had a seal that was busted and needed replaced. I also asked them what was wrong with the engine, and if the spark plugs needed to be replaced again because of all the overheating, and they want more money to do that.
So, can i just put some stop leak in it for a week till i get a new radiator, and what is the best type of radiator for my money...(they want $750 to install a new radiator and hoses). And do you think there are any internal damages from the sounds of it, i think that maybe the spark plugs are just fouled out from the overheating?

Not a huge fan of stop leaks but Bars leaks it probably the best DO NOT USE ALUMNASEAL It works good but it will clog up your new radiator, As far asthe plugs change them aand see where it goes, What type of fouling are you getting? And I do belive yours a DIS Engine being a 6cy.
X2 on the stop leak...don't use it unless you plan on selling it.
If you are going to throw in a new rad, I would add a new pump too while you are at it. Are you losing fluid? Does your exhaust smell sweet? If so, then you may have a bad head gasket or cracked head and are burning it. That will certainly foul your plugs.
Have you checked you oil? Does it look OK? If it looks like a milkshake, then you need to get a new head gasket and oil change.
well, i just ordered my radiator and they said they would bring it to me tomorrow right to my front door. It's a 2 row raditor and i got it, tax and shipping included for $165.
Im going to install it some time tomorrow along with some new plugs, and see how it goes from there.
my jeep gets hot to mostly when I run the ac but it also gets to 115 out here.

I did check the head gasket and it is fine
compression is fine to
in fact after I removed the code everything is running as it should
in about a week I will be putting in an electric fan and get rid of the belt driven fan that should give me more power
If it still gets hot then I'll put in a 3row radiator in
I just got my new radiator and i finally got it installed this evening. I started it up, and it was running really funny like it was still misfiring but the engine didnt come on. Well, i took it down the road a little bit and it seemed as if it wasnt misfiring it at all while i was driving it, just at idle. So, i shut the engine off and then when i went to start it back up the exhaust blew out a bunch of smoke and the engine is running super rich. If anyone has any idea what it could be please reply. It seems as if everytime i fix one thing there's still another...
