NEED HELP!!Motor misfiring!

I've got a 98 with the 2.5 and two days ago it started sputtering on acceleration and sounded like it was misfiring. Took her home and checked all the plugs and vapor lines but they were good. There was a wiring harness on on the air intake that cuts the motor when it gets bent down but other than that I can't find anything that would cause the issue. Any ideas or advice would be great!

Is it throwing any codes? It might help narrow the misfire down.

My father in law is gonna bring his code scanner home from work tuesday so I'm tryin to be easy on it til I can figure it out. It almost sounds and runs like its not geting enough fuel to get full combustion. Hopefully its somethin simple but who knows.

Fuel filter won't cause that problem. Scan and check for codes. Probably has a misfire code.

Just got it checked today and it showed po301 a misfire in cyl #1. Pulled the plug and its good and the plug wire is good. So my next day off is Friday so I'm gonna have to do some digging then and see what I can come up with. I'm thinking maybe not getting enough fuel but we'll see.

If you still don't fix it I would run compression tests if you have low or no compression in that cylinder it could be you're oil rings or even a burnt or stuck valve
