To be more specific, that is your steering gearbox. They are really easy to replace and you can buy a rebuilt one at most auto parts stores for around $180 or so with your old unit as a core.
My steering box had the same problem. I've noticed that it leaks a lot more when you leave your car parked with the tires turned. May not be the same in your case. I upgraded to the Durango steering box for about $70 from Pick n' pull. It leaks too amazingly (of course). Anyway, if you're on a budget that may be the way to go if you absolutely need a new one.
I used Lucas oil power steering stop leak and kept topping it off every few months for about a year and that worked great. It only ran me about $5-10 every six months. (Mine really leaked)
Why not just replace the seal ? It's called the sector shaft seal, remove the pitman arm nut, then the arm, remove c-clip start the vehicle turn the wheel all the way to the steering stop the seal should pop out. Turn vehicle off, pack new seal with grease and install. Reinstall pitman arm tighten nut. refill with fluid and bleed system. Should take less than an hour to complete.
