I started riding home then when I got into my town I heard a high pitch noise as I am driving. I noticed that the noise only occurred when i was in second gear to fifth gear and my foot was pressing down on the accelerator. Also when I am in neutral and my foot is not on the clutch I hear a rattling noise, Then when I put my foot on the clutch the noise goes away. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Thanks I really appreciate it!
the whine- i dont know. mine does it too sometimes. i guess its just the nature of the beast. probably not a good thing though...
When you let the clutch out while in neutral, your transmission is still spinning with the engine. thats what the noise is. there is nothing wrong with it. all jeeps do it.

Surprisingly the sound went away! I was driving on the highway then when I got back into the city the noise stopped. That was good news! Now my 5th gear is not working. Boy from one problem to the next, haha!
