Need Help Please Door problems

I got a 97 jeep wrangler, and I am redoing the whole inside from seats to panels, and to new carpets. I closed the driver side door last weekend, the door is locked, and the it will not unlock to open it. I tried everything from playing with the mechanism form the outside because there is no door handle on the outside. However, the panel is installed on the inside. It seems like there is a jam of somesort in the mechanism. Has anyone run into this problem, if so what can I do. I was thinking to unbolt the door from the triangle part of the hinge to pry the door open. I am finguring it will break the locking mechanism, if so, o' well I need the door off. Any advise?

do you have the key lock on the outside? You probably already tried but worth a shot-- does it feel frozen in place or like the lock jammed? So the lock button on the inside doesn't work either?

back to this if you take the door off at the hinge have a friend help hold it and then you would simply have to pull up and the door gently to get it off - It should release.

with my locks if i don't give them a good push to get it to lock fully i end up having to open the passenger door and reach in and play with the lock and handle until it locks fully or unlocks fully. PITA
