Well, changing the joints would not hurt. Could be clutch though. How many miles on the Jeep? Does it seem the the rpm's are going up but the speed is not matching?

The jeep has 89,000 miles on it but ive change the clutch out about at 65,70,000 miles the rpms acts normal ive been told you can also check the clutch by putting it in high gear and releasing and seeing if it will stall or the rpms will go up, acts like the clutch is ok,but would the u joints in a ds make the shake in 1st gear plus if i try to idle up a hill in low it will do the same thing

just installed new tranny mount 6 months ago when i did the longarm, just went out to the garage and there is the slightest movement in the ds when pushing up and down, side ways would a u joint cause this shaking?

if it is your u-joints, jump underneath and anything more than an 1/8th of an inch turning ~ its the u-joints.

I would hear clicking as I engaged the drive train, when I checked underneath my rear drive shaft would turn about 1/4 of an inch. Once I changed them, no more clicking and quicker response.

Still need to do the axles !!

Man, it could be your problem. Or it could not.

Fix em, then see if it's the problem. If you don't its like a butterfly effect.
