Need help with soft top issue

Ok, so I have a pavement ends flip sunrider soft top, but since the top isn't in the greatest condition and I need a new top and the hardware is still in excellent condition, is there anyway that I can just buy a new soft top with windows instead of buying a whole new top? And one that is relatively cheap would be ideal.

Thanx

If Quadratec is all inclusive...then I got bad news for ya... they don't sell replaceable fabric only for the Sunrider top. Only the full kit with hardware...for like $800. Not cheap that's for sure...

You can't get replacement fabric for a Pavement Ends top. They're sold relatively inexpensively, and with less support in the marketplace. Basically, think of it as being a very simple business with very few part numbers to keep stocked at places like Quadratec. Things like that really help keep the prices down.

So basically I'm out of luck. That sucks lol. Oh well, looks like I'm gonna go topless for the summer and hope it doesn't rain.
But like some of you have said, I did look at Quadratec and I see the Bestop replacement tops, but wasn't sure if that would have actually worked or not. Definitely thanx for the responses.

Just get a Trek top from Quadratec and ditch the hardware completely.... Surprised Geoff didn't mention it. I think they're on sale for a pretty good price right now... Good luck!

How are those Trek Tops from flapping at highway speeds and such...are they louder or do they pull tight enough against the sport bar that they don't flap much (if at all)...I just bought a new top recently, but I got it for like $548 shipped...so I may post it on CL (still new in box) and see if I get any bites at $550-570 since they wouldn't have to pay shipping locally. And then I could go and buy a Trek Top. lol

I'm not to sure if this will help you too much, but if the sunrider top hardware will take a regular top than a Pavement Ends top replacement will cost 400 something bucks. I just bought one of these replacement tops back in June and it has held pretty well so far through the cold weather/snow. ( I also use a top cover when I leave it parked outside, and that keeps all the snow/frozen stuf from getting on the canvas/windows.)

good luck!

Idk, but I sure wish someone would let me road test one.... I love the way they look, but my top is still in really good shape.

I looked at the trek tops and with shipping it will be close to $580, on sale that is. So I need something a bit cheaper as I really can't afford anything past $380. So lucky I should look at some replacement tops?

Replacement tops aren't cheap either...especially if you need to buy the hardware for a new factory top. I don't think a standard top will fit on the hardware your Sunrider top has...don't quote me on that, but I really don't think so.

I just bought a Bestop Sailcloth Replace-a-Top...w/o hardware or upper door skins and it set me back $550 shipped. It would have been closer to $700-800 had I needed the hardware if I remember right.

Standard denim tops are a bit cheaper...top only may fit your budget, but if you need the hardware, I think you may still need to cough up another couple hundred bucks.

I'm not sure on other brand tops...with tops, from the reading I've done, they tend to follow the "You get what you pay for" rule.

Check out this option. I wanted something different and someone linked this one. Its bowless and basically a ripoff of the very expensive Viking Fast Back. Its on back order so not sure when I will be able to review it. I really like the storage and how it easily the windows zip out, and converts to a safari. I think that will come in handy during the hot, sunny, summers in GA, plus you never know when its going to rain. Its about half the price of a Viking and its 10% off at 4wd right now.
Rampage Bowless Soft Tops and Other Jeep Parts and Jeep Accessories by 4 Wheel Drive Hardware

Here is the viking through quadratec. At this price point, you can pretty much get whatever softtop you want, but I was considering it just because you dont see them every day.
Viking Offroad 200101 - VIKING Offroad Fast Back Soft Top for 97-06 Jeep® Wrangler TJ - Quadratec

Then you have the Bestop Trek. I decided against this only because you cant remove the side windows.
Bestop Trektop - JCWhitney

Then I found this option. Looks good. Cant find any reviews and its not going to ship anytime soon. Another BOWLESS option.
Softopper Photo Gallery - Canvas Camper Shells, and Caps

Hope this helps, I am going with bowless, just for the looks and function, but I think the Rampage would be a good option. My jeep has a perfectly good set of factory bows, I will consider selling them if the Rampage turns out good. Check Craigslist for something to get you by for a while. For new, Rampage and Pavement ends will be the cheapest. 4wd had 10% off, but I think quadratec has rebates going. Good luck hope this helps a little.

GaJeepDawg: I refuse to go with Rampage, just because I basically returned the top, with a lot of hassle from their customer reps, and because none of the parts came with it. I recieved about half the order and all other parts I had to reorder. But I'll take a look at the Trek and the Viking. Thanx
