New air box - now TJ is throwing codes

Posting for a friend...

Hey guys and girls.

I just replaced my snorkel modded air box with a factory air box today because I took the snorkel off when I installed my Metal Cloaks.

I got about 15 minutes up the road and lost all engine power.

It's throwing codes 12, 24, and 55. I know 12 and 55 are irrelevant and that 24 is for the throttle position sensor. What I don't understand is how the throttle position sensor correlates with the replacement of the air box. Is it just coincidence, or could it be something else other than the TPS?

The Jeep is a rarely driven 4.0L, and the TPS was just replaced a few years ago.

My bet is it is either coincidence or the electrical connector on the TPS was bopped during the intake replacement.

Okay

We took the TPS apart and cleaned it with WD40 and put fresh dielectric grease on it. It started, ran fine, and the CEL went away almost immediately. Took it for a drive around the block, seemed to be acting normal. We'll take it for a longer test drive tomorrow.

Is it normal for the CEL to disappear that fast?

Took it for a longer drive and everything seems to be working fine Guess we'll have to keep an eye on it.
