new coil no spark

im new and the problem is what brought me here...
i have a 97 sport 5 speed and 2 days ago it would not start all of the sudden..it cranks over fine but wont fire up..i had it at the shop yesterday and was told that the fuel pressure is fine and it is not the pump..checked for a spark by pulling a plug wire and sticking a screwdriver in it and had someone try and start the car while i held the screwdriver next to metal looking for spark (this is what i was informed to do)..no spark from plug wire or from wire coming from coil..replaced coil and still nothing..what could it be?..thanks.

Normally if the ignition module goes bad it will shut down the fuel and spark but on a few occasions I have seen just one side of the module to go out and kill the spark.I would pull the module and run it to autozone or another parts place that can test it for you.I would say you will find the module to be your problem.

well..the crank position sensor looked like it had been replaced in the last year or so (i've only had the jeep since december) so i did a little research and swapped the a/c relay with the asd relay and she fired up....interestingly, the relay box under the hood shows a completely different (wrong as can be) diagram of what each fuse/relay is..it wasnt until i pulled out the owners manual that i found the proper information and was able to locate the asd...also found out why the horn was not working as there is a relay next to asd for that as well...hope this helps someone who has the same problem.
