New Top Issue

I just bought the sierra off road replacement top for my '97 TJ. I figured it would fit different since it's newer, but where the old one wrapped around the frame and velcroed to itself to seal around the doors there's about an inch and a half gap. I think the jeep had a sunrider top, and I didn't know that when I ordered a new one. (bought the jeep used, the top hadn't been replaced in at least 10 years)
what's the deal with the gap? Am I missing a piece?

Pictures of the gap would be helpful.

Wonderful... Apparently the top I had before didn't need them? It wrapped around the bar you can somewhat see in the picture and sealed the doors.

If you had a bestop sunrider top before and ordered a replacement tarp from a different company the door surrounds and the frame will be different than the stock top it's probably meant to replace. If it fits and is somewhat functional I'd say you got lucky.

I'm just confused on the door surrounds. I never had any before.
I definitely agree that I got lucky. It won't be up much this summer anyways so I'm not too concerned

Did it have any top on it at all when you bought it? Right now, not counting your soft top frame, it looks like it's set up for a hard top which seals itself against the full steel doors. You need to order door surrounds to make everything fit

When I bought it it had a different top, still soft though. It extended further though, and wrapped around the bow and created somewhat of a seal. If I hadn't thrown out the old top I'd take a picture if it to show what I mean.
