New trackbar/ old trackbar

I have an adjustable trackbar on my current setup. I believe it is a JKS product, I paid about $200 for it from the local shop installed. I have just ordered a RK long arm kit that includes another trackbar. I am wondering which one I should use? What would you guys suggest?

I'd use the RK bar that came with the kit.

i got my jks trackbar because it is compatable with any lift up to 5''

its what you want to run imo.. both are good products..

i would think you can get more money out of a NEW trackbar than you could a used one.. so i would sell the new rk one and keep the jks one

Joe removed my JKS trac bar and replaced it with the RK. Also he welded my RK trac bar mount when he installed it. You need to use the RK.

JKS = Wimpy next to the RK. Dump the JKS and sell it for scrap metal.

Ohh, I took it as: since you have an RK lift your the only one smart enough to figure on using ALL the parts that came with the kit. Boy am I a dumb ass.

If you're looking for short arms, give a look at ROKMEN. Also from I have seen RK is the only kit I'd buy, and I do have their front track-bar.

Yes as the others said use the RK trac bar. The JKS bar is strong compared to virtually every other one on the market. Except for the RK. It's a solid stock bar that is virtually unbreakable. Plus the trac bar mount is made specifically for that trac bar and the whole system works extremely well together.

And for whoever was looking for Short Arms. Yes RK does make adjustable rear uppers. Joe probably just doesn't have them on his site. But he does have them in the computer and can get them for you.

JKS makes two Track Bars one for 1" to 3.5" and 4" to i think 6". If you just installed a 4 inch lift the JKS Track bar you had probably would not work for you new lift anyways.

dirk from dpg sold me the 4-6'' jks trackbar knowing that i was running 3.25'' of lift =p it works JUST fine on my rig.. it isn't even as short as it could be.. the reason he sold me it is because we were talking and he knew i was wanting to go bigger on down the road =p

Thanks for the info, good stuff. The RK kit shipped today so I should be able to get started on it in the next week or so. I'll post some pics.

i'd use the RK one. that thing is HEAVY. i'd feel safe walking through a rough neighborhood with that thing in hand. i did have to shorten mine by 1/4" to get my axle centered though.
the kit comes with a 3/8" offset tool for the rear axle truss, i set mine an 1/8" further forward than they spec'd and its still too far back IMO. wish i had gone another 1/4"
every jeep is different though
you'll need some long 1/2" drill bits if you're going to bolt on the rails, 9/16" bit for trackbar. I dont know the exact size for the jamnuts on the CA's but 1.5" works.

PITA lugging that heavy stuff around with a hurt back, took me about 24 hours to install it myself with hand tools when i could barely walk.

pics from last weekend, consider them motivation

if you have any questions just ask

Thanks again for the input. Another question: what shocks are you guys using with your RK lifts. I went with the 7" and Joe says I only have two options: Pro Comp MX6 or the Rancho RS9000. There are virtually no MX6's in the country becuase they are backordered. What do you think about the Rancho shocks?

heh joe your wrong =p i talked to joe and he said that RK doesnt make rear adjustable short arms because most of their rear suspensions are tri-linked..

Well then when I talk to Jeremy next time I'll have to tell him to update his website because he still has them on there for the 4" Short Arm lift.

Or it could be because there are several of us that have RK setups on our rigs and therefore know exactly what we are talking about hence the wealth of knowledge that the man got in regards to using the RK trac bar with his RK lift.

And Branty I'm not a good one to say what shocks to use. I'm using a stupid long shock with mine and basically don't use them for any dampening, just to keep the springs in the axles. On my previous suspension that I did daily drive i ran with Rancho 9000's and loved them. They are a little more money, but worth it. Joe is running MX6's on the JK and they work very well also. Either way I don't think you can go wrong.
