No 4wd...

We had alot of snow/ice/freezing rain today here in NJ.. I used my 4wd on my way to work (4 miles @ 40mph max).. i put it back in 2wd when i left work & now it won't go back into 4WD H.. It seems i'm stuck in 2wdH...

How can i inspect the linkage? what am i looking for? I tried to put it in 4wdH today and it still won't shift... the lever moves but it doesn't lock into place and it won't go into N or 2wdL either...

one of the linkage rods could have poped out there are rober grammets that hold them in it could be as simple poping it back in place. get under the car and look above the skid plate look at the linkage and make sure everything is conceted

We got about 3 inches of snow/ice/sleet mix but it's so cold the ice isn't coming off my jeep. I had to chip a sheet of ice off of my hood for my heat to work.. I looked underneath this morning.. i noticed there is a chunk of ice between the trans & the skidplate.. I can't get it into 4wd so i can't get it up the driveway and into the garage to melt the ice off.. i've never had this issue before.. is it possible the ice could be preventing me from moving that lever? I'm also getting alot of vibration and it seems like i'm dragging something. my 4wd light isn't on and i was able to do a few donuts so i don't think my 4wd is engaged, but i can feel something is causing extra resistance in the driveline..

ice is a common cause for many problems, My jeep was running great and now its all frozen and i'm hearing squeaks and knocks all over the place

We actually got around a foot of snow here this past week with a lot and a lot of wind so there is about 3 ft of snow at some places
