I replaced my stock bumper with an aftermarket one. When I took the old one off, I left the factory fogs on it and they worked at the time. I bought some new LED lights for the new bumper. I have power at the rocker switch inside but no power to lights. I even hooked up the old factory lights to test. Nothing. Any suggestions? Relays maybe? Please help!
I tried reversing the wires and checked my fuse behind the glove box. Am I missing an inline fuse or a fuse under the hood? How many relays are involved in the fog lights and where are they?
Make sure your high beam headlights are not on. The circuit kills fog light power when high beams are on. Your fuse should be #3 (20 amp) in the fuse block behind the glove box. There are two relays in the circuit and they are mounted just to the upper right of the fuse block. One relay powers the fogs, the other kills the power to it when the high beams are turned on.
Make sure you have a good ground. If you put on a new bumper chances are it had a nice paint job. Paint will not conduct electricity or ground. If a multimeter shows power at the supply wire and a known ground it's your ground. Also, did you try connecting one of the lights directly to the battery to make sure the light itself is good? (I know, they're new, doesn't mean they can't be bad.)
It's doubtful that it's the relay, they don't go bad very often, especially on something like fog lights where they don't see a lot of use.
