Noise when i accelerate?

Hey guys. I'm a little concerned. My foot slipped on the clutch the other day and it revved super high. After doing that when I press the accelerator there is a clicky noise. When I release the accelerator it stops when I press it it goes again. It is in any gear and just when I accelerate not down shift or anything. I'm worried please help!

If its coming from under the hood, you may need a buddy and a $5 mechanics stethoscope to narrow it down.

That clicky noise could then be coming from a crack in the exhaust manifold...pretty common.

My 2002 2.5 just started doing the same thing! I was thinking its the valves. I changed the oil and added STP oil treatment crap. I'm at 134000 miles.
