noob with a question on a leak

I just bought my first jeep a week ago. It is a 2000 wrangler 4cylinder automatic trans. with 61,000 miles on it. It runs and drives great overall shifts very smooth. but i do have a very slow leak from what looks like the gear box up front on the driver side and it appeares to be tranny fluid? Anyone know aof any problems with these gear boxes or what may have caused this or what i need to do? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

about 90% sure its the steering box and not trans fluid but there is still a 10% chance im wrong. Stock steering box is notorious for the seal leaking. dont bother trying to replace the seal it is not worth the hassle you can find a used steering box from a 98-99 durango. its a direct replacement all the mounting holes are identical and its about double the strength. Replacing jeep steering box with a Durango Steering box? -
