Novak Transfercase Cable Shifter Question

I just installed my Novak Cable shifter on my NP231. I have to say what an amazing product. HUGE difference. It shifts like butter now. So my question is: Is it normal that mine shifts so smooth, its hard to distinguish from 4 hi from neutral or 4 lo. I know you shoudl be able to look and tell by the position of the shift lever, but I could barely tell when I changed between gears. Thanks in advance for all feed back.

It is much easier to shift than the stock shifter, but you should still be able to feel it lock into each position.

I have one and yes it is a great product that is made in Utah. Very easy to install and so much better than stock. You should feel a slight difference when it goes from 2 wd to 4 high to 4 low. Yes the smoothness is normal and it is oh so nice.

Did it take a lot of adjusting to get everything just right?

No it did not take a bunch of adjusting. They make it so easy to adjust things too so it maybe took 15-20 minutes.

I just did it last wed, and it look.a lil adjustment at that time. Sunday i went out wheeling and after playing, it wouldnt shift back into 2wd. So now i have to get under there and re adjust a bit. Prob my fault for not tightening up all the way ( or i hope it doesnt regularly do it) but prob just me.

Cool, I hope the install will go pretty smooth then, I'm so tired of fighting with my stock linkage..

Both the mounting brackets that hold th e cable have fittings you can adjust. Also where it mounts to the shifter arm on the transfer case. Once u install everything you will be able to tell what needs to be adjusted and how much. Remember to lossen the side of the fittings in the direction you want the cable to move.

Never have any issues getting into 4 low or popping out of 4 low?

do they come on at all? Just not at the right times of the shift pattern? If so its probbely because your linkage is all out of whack.

If you disregard the light showing up, does the t-case actually shift properly? The light not working is fairly common.

I will have to check the bulb and sensor! The bulb is a sealed unit with the cluster if I remember right
