having a strange issue with my transfer case. When sliding the lever back from 2wd to 4wd it passes through and comes to a stop like normal, but it passes where 4wd is. The 4wd light comes on then off. I can sort of get it into 4hi but it wont stay there, and pops out almost straight away.

absolutly no problems with low range. I had to drive all day in low range which was ok, but i want my high range back. Once it comes to a stop (where 4hi should be) I move it to the side a bit and back more to 4low and all is fine.

What would be causing this? should i pull my transfer case apart again? I hate doing that.

Since you don't have a body lift or t-case drop, you don't need a t-case shifter bracket to fix this problem. It's nothing more than the t-case shift linkage is slightly out of adjustment. There's a bolt that holds a rod in position on the linkage (you can only get to it from underneath the Jeep) and that rod has likely slipped. Get underneath and while someone works the shift lever from the top, watch how the mechanism works and you'll quickly see which way to adjust the rod. Then tighten the bolt to hold it in place.
When you have a choice, buy American.
