Np231 jam

Np 231 jams So i put my new tcase in. As some may remember i had linkage issues. Today everything was complete so i hooked my battery back up. When thr jeep isnt running i can shift very smoothly through all tge tcase ranges. When the motor is running it shifts smoothly down from 2hi to 4lo. But the problem occurs on my way back up to 2 hi. It seem to grind from N to 4hi. Once im in 4hi.... Or my lever is i dont know if its actually in. It just gets stuck. Wont budge. I turn the engine off and it shifts into 2hi. I just got this case from a fellow on here. Anyone have any ideas??

Have you tried it while rolling ever so slight forward...like 1-2mph...just enough to have the wheels slightly turning? Some transfer cases can be kinda quirky and require you to be rolling slightly or they'll grind.
