NV3550 swap questions

Is the nv3550 a direct bolt on in place of the ax15 in a 99 wrangler? My ax15 is knocking real bad in reverse and I'm waiting on it to go and one of my buddy's has a rebuilt nv3550 in his shop that he will cut me a deal on so if it is a direct swap I'll jump on it. I have heard that you have to trim the trans tunnel a little bit but if that's all and my stock console will still work then I will be good to go. So if anyone has done this swap let me know im not sure how long mine is gonna last and I'm not sure if my buddy is going to hold on to that trans much longer.

A quick google search returned a few results, maybe give that a try... here's a pretty good one that should at least answer your "is it bolt-on easy?" question.

They are a 100% direct swap between the two with no mods needed. No trimming required. The same clutch slave works, same wiring harness, same t-case, same shifter boot, and you won't even have to remove the clutch and pressure plate if you aren't swapping to new ones.
