OEM Fog Light Install

Has anyone installed the OEM Fogs after purchasing their TJ? How simple is the install/wireup? Any suggestions for going with alternate fogs?

Have you already bought the fogs yet?

B/c if you havent I think you should look into just getting some aftermarket fogs. I have the stock ones and they seem pretty dim imo
and you could probably get some aftermarket ones for cheaper than oem ones from the dealer

You might want to look at a set of KC's. I think they work a lot better than the stock ones. You can also mount them in cool places like on the windsheild brackets.

Go aftermarket. I think my IPF 968's were about $ 120 for the pair(s).

Yeah but I'd like something that I can use on the road rather than off. And the daylighters are 100w I think.

thses links are to some hella 500 fog light. I belive that these come stock on the newer tj's just with a differet housing and these are MUCH cheaper than getting oem's at the dealer. They might be brighter than mine since mine are the older style oem fogs but I've never had any experience with them

so here's a question on this topic...

I bought some Hella 55w at Advanced Auto, like $42 is all. Nice lights, bolted right to the fender. Here's the question:

I don't want them tied to the hi/lo beams, I just want to be able to flick the switch I install on the dash and the come on or go off. But it's set up for the relay.

How can I wire this up with or without the relay and not tied to hi-beams?

Thanks!

Bill

Bill, you need a constant voltage source to the trigger on the relay. There are lots of wires to tap behind the fuse panel. I'm not sure about your 04 but on my 99 and my wifes 00 there is a red and blue wire hanging loose for such needs. One is aux power and the other is ignition controlled.
