Oil/gas guage haunted

Last night my 00TJ was idling for about 20min. the oil pressure guage damn near flatlined and rpms dove just above a stall...immediately went back to normal.
This afternoon i started it up and gas guage was flat lined red. i had an eighth a tank. i went to gas station put $20 in and it came back to life.
whats the deal?

I have had same kind of issue once in a while with my gas gauge. last week I stopped and put $40 in gas in my 2001 tj I was at about an 1/8 tank before I put $40 in. work I about 30 min away gauge sat at 1/8 tank till I got to work and then went up. doesn't happen all the time. weird

Not sure about that gas gauge, but I replaced the oil sending unit sensor and haven't had a problem....its been a couple weeks and a day trip to URE (6hrs ttl commute + hard driving) and no issues.
