Oil leak

Hi, newbie here with a leaking question. Bought a used '97 Wrangler SE to tow behind motorhome. Took it knowing there was a small oil leak. Previous owner had the oil pan resealed. Always tough to tell where the leak originates. Doesn't appear to be around valve cover. The oil filter is moist with oil and there are drips onto alternator (this is on passenger side, right?)
Thought about the main seal but would the oil migrate up? Drivers side of engine pretty much dry except around oil pan. Saw posts that suggested oil filter seal(s) or PCV valve stuck and weeping from distributor.
Anyone encounter similar problem?

always better to degrease engine, let dry, start jeep, look for oil. hard to find a leak if the engine is covered in oil. oil wont go that far up from a rear main. try looking at the oil sending unit.

Correction to my post

Goofy me. The alternator is dry, it is the starter that it drifts on.
Guess I'll have to degrease and look.
I assume the oil sender is up where the oil filter is, which means I need two extra elbows and a wrist to get to it. Will work on the pix, but probably after degreasing.
Oh! Is the oil pressure sender done through a PVC type tube? The AZ sun does tend to really bake things.

just wires from sending unit. the leak would be where it threads in.

Took some pix

Took some pix of the current condition. Still have to get the engine cleaned and degreased to rightfully tell where the leak is. Now I suspect it is weeping around the oil filler cap. The oil seems to migrate from there to the rear of engine and down the passenger side. Finally located the oil pressure sender. Don't see any leak around it.
Gonna try and attach the pix:
Well, that worked. Next I'll have to learn how to embed them.
Regarding the embed.....NEVER MIND.
