Oil leaking from rear end

Noticed the other day that I have a small leak and was wondering if I just needed to replace the plug or if this is a larger problem that I need to address

Yes that is seeping from the fill plug. It's just a pushed in rubber plug. Get a replacement. (when's the last time the differential fluid was changed? maybe time to do anyway.)

couldn't tell you when the last time the fluid was changed. Just bought the jeep last year. Will probably do that this weekend. If I remember correctly I drain the fluid by removing the dif cover and then clean the gasket surface install a new gasket and then fill the rear end with fluid until i can feel it through the hole, is this correct?

Remove cover/clean/fill. Note, there is no gasket. Factory and most use RTV. Scrape old off and reapply. There are gaskest available. A reusable on is I believe called "lube locker" Don't forget to do the front diff also
