Was driving Penny (2000 Sahara, i6, 192,000 miles) home from the airport Friday night - about a 70 mile trip. 2/3 of the way home, I stopped at Burger King's drive thru for dinner. At the window the check gauges light came on and I saw that she was overheating. I quickly whipped into a parking spot and turned it off. Raised the hood, coolant was normal and radiator cap wasn't hot. Waited a few seconds and cranked back up and turned heat on high to try to get some out. Temp dropped back down to normal immediately and never got above normal all the way home.
I'm thinking maybe a stuck thermostat. Sound about right? Is that an easy do it myself (with Pop's help) or a mechanic job? Keeping in mind I'm a software geek and not mechanically inclined at all...
