P0113 after newer intake swap

Some of you have been helping me out with some problems and questions on my replacement/upgrade intake manifold and thank you, but ive got one more. So i have a 98 wrangler 4.0 and installed an 00 cherokee intake manifold on and juat finished a few hours ago. Runs great, nice and smooth, idles good except, my check engine light is on with the code P0113 saying something about an intake air temp circuit. Only modifications was one of the sensors needed splicing and extended which i did with 18 guage wire and soldered it up. My thoughts are maybe this was the wrong guage which is a relatively easy fix or to unplug and replug sensor and see if that fixes? Any thoughts or possible fixes on this issue? Thanks in advance

No a wire gauge issue but make sure sensor is same for both years if not use one for the same year as originally in jeep most temp sensors vary resistance with temp but different sensors don't all have the same temp vs resistance values

Good call, it is the sensor that was in the 00. Ill see if swapping the sensor from my 98 intake does the trick. Thanks

I think so. I don't think the code clears itself. It should at least do that and see if it comes back.

Yes 98 will not do key cycle to show code in odometer so you need to scan with tool but I would verify code before I continued

And bad news....
Check engine light came on again and i thought it mighy go away but its been a few days. Still on. It wemt away during a snow storm? Maybe temp had an effect? I dont know. Still P0113. And remember i did solter this to extend it a few inches using 18 guage wire and thats the only thing i could think would be causing this. Im debating just clearing it with the OBD ii scanner. Im just afraid of clearing it if theres still a problem. Anyone have any ideas? Heres the page oreillys printed off for me.

If you clear it and it is still a problem, it will come right back. Don't worry about that.

Oh ok. Oreilly said they wouldnt clear it because of liability if it actually is a problem and i wreck amd blah blah blah but said i could use their scanner to clear it myself which ill do. I need to buy my own scanner. My dad has one but im not always around but luckily autozone and oreillys are 2 min away

Might want to look at the diagnostic tree for the code. It can pretty much lead you down the correct path for a fix. By the way something as simple as a blocked air filter can trigger that code.

A fault in the system can cause hard starting and poor running condition, depending on what is at fault.

And why O'reilys and such won't clear your codes. It's considered tampering with a Federal emissions device, if the shop doing it has not done the repair.

I looked into the diagnostic tree with no success.. Could you point me in the right direction?
I just wish i could find out what guage wire the sensor has. I used 18 guage amd really think thats whats causing it but someone said nah and idk what else would do it...
