Just traded for an 04 wrangler x, 4.0 manual tranny... 30 min after trading, I was running 65 with no issues and started to climb a slight slope when CEL flashed three times and then became solid and the motor hesitated and shook. I pulled over and read codes of P0306, cylinder 6 misfire. Drove remainder of the way home with no major problems other than slightly rough idle, CEL stayed on. After a few days of engine cycling CEL has now gone away. Jeep also turns over more times than it should before cranking, very delayed start and sometimes sounds as if starter has a momentary pause while turning over. Took to dealer and they basically approached me with a plan of throwing parts at it until something worked. Anyone had this problem and solved it? CPS? Coil Rail? Plug boot? Any ideas? CEL has come on one time since and flashed three times while climbing slight hill in fifth gear running around 65. I took out of gear and coasted until CEL went away.
