Dude!
You did it with rollers???
Very creative!!
I di an old Cherokee with green tint bed liner years ago, and it looked like frog skin, so of course it was the "Toad"!!
Rollers can be very different pattern and different texture, so did you use a smooth roller or a flat one??

Make sure you change the color on your registration!

You think that's a problem if I don't change it on the registration? This is my second home paint job to it and never had problems before

If you're an LEO and you pulled over a vehicle that once the plates were run and the registration says, "registered to a YELLOW Jeep" but the one you just pulled over is RED! Wouldn't the hair stand up on the back your neck?! Stolen plates or vehicle!!!!! The next thing you know you're getting pulled out of your vehicle and a high-risk stop with guns drawn!
It happened to a buddy of mine in Denver...but his family was in the Jeep too!

I'm thinking there's a bit more to that story, unless the LEO was just that much of a doofus. People paint cars all the time and that alone is not enough to assume a care is stolen. I can't even imagine why your average car thief would go to the trouble of painting a car, but one would think that if they've had time for that then you've probably noticed your car missing and reported it...which the plates would indicate in a stop. Sometimes keeping your hands in sight and not acting like you have something to hide go a long way to keeping the peace and sometimes even avoiding a ticket. Of course, this is coming from someone who has spray painted two vehicles! First was an old 80's caprice that took 20 cans. Other was a conversion van that took 30. Of course, flames went on both. I wish I had more pictures of the silly things I did when I was a bit younger!

There's not more to the story, Dan was driving to a trailhead through Denver. At a light a cop was running plates, when the registration didn't match the vehicle the cop assumed it was stolen. And in large metropolitan areas like Denver the cops do not fool around, he called for backup another squad showed up they slowly remove Dan and his family from the vehicle. Once it was clear what was going on they were allowed to leave with a ticket! And the officer told him plain and simple this whole situation could've been avoided had you change it on your registration sir!! If you ask Dan he admits he was the one that screwed up here.

You are missing the point! Changing the color of you vehicle without changing it on your registration creates confusion at a traffic stop. Are these the plates stolen, vehicle stolen is the owner driving it or a thief? If color wasn't important in the registration process then they would not require it. The POINT is that the LEO doesn't know what's is going on so he/she is gonna take precautions to protect themselves. And yes people paint their vehicle all the time and if they change the color the smart ones change it on their registration. It's a different world than when were kids. I went to school every day with a pocket knife, today I'd get expelled! Do what you want! But, Why not just save yourself the hassle of a traffic stop, ticket, court appearance etc and just change the color on your registration??

I have NEVER put the color of my vehicle on the registration. Where do they require this?
I have not heard of this before.
Yeah, I grew up in California, and Hawaii, Nevada, and Arizona, but never had to state the color.

No, I think the point is we do not live in communist Russia where the Gestapo runs the show. If there truly was no other justification other than non color-matching plates to vehicle registration, then that cop was an idiot and needs some further training, whether it happened in the metro area or otherwise. What amounted to a simple mistake, does not warrent a guns drawn / get out of the vehicle stop.

Said cop needs his douche bag ass pistol whipped and fired. If you get your panties in a wad that fast you have no business being a cop

Is there any sort of reflection in the paint or is it flat?
