Passenger seat belt doesn't retract

My passenger seat belt has difficulty retracting. The only way to get it to retract is to keep pulling on it and have it slowly retract. Any way to fix this?

There is a safety catch on the side of the retract section for the seatbelt. If you take the cover off (by prying under and flipping the cover up) there is a brightly colored plastic latching system on the side with a 1/2 inch ball bearing inside. How it works is that after a certain angle the ball will go off center, pushing up on the top tab and locking the ratchet in case of an accident. Mine did this a while back and after getting into it I found the cup under the bearing was full of dirt, cleaned it out and havent had a problem since

Awesome info. My drivers side belt does it too.
