Please Help Urgent

2002 Wrangler Sport. Straight 6.

Im not sure what the problem is but I pray it isnt the clutch cause i really dont wanna drop the tranny again.

I replaced the clutch about 1 and 1/2 year ago.
I have been off road a few times but not a lot.

so this is my problem.

when i go to take off in first gear and i give it about 1000-1400rpms it jumps. "like someone new trying to learn how to drive a stick". It does not do it if i let the clutch out without giving it gas, or if i over rev the motor.

Also, i have to be at a complete stand still most of the time in order to put it into first gear. if im moving it will grind, also when i try to put it in first gear fast it will grind. I have to put it in Slowly.

The reason this is urgent is cause i live in hawaii and this is my only vehicle. I go on leave "army" tomorrow and im flying my little brother out to spend some time with me. So with out a vehicle its gunna suck.

Check master cylinder for fluid. Might be time to replace.

start out in second.

I'm 80% serious - 1st gear is worthless on road.

Have you changed fluid in transmission? If so with what? If not, you might try that. A poster here "rrich" suggests flushing with kerosene, and then adding mopar fluid back in for best results. I'm going to try this in a few weeks as I went w/ Pennzoil syncromesh for my NV3550, and it got worse.

I checked the master cylinder and the slave cylinder. the slave cylinder is ok as far as i know of. i took it off and pushed the piston in and out slowly making sure no air bubbles came out of the master and none did.

90% of the time (apparently I like %'s today) if a MC or Slave goes out it will leak fluid as a subtle hint its dead.

well, took it to a shop and their theory is the synchros. so i guess im going for a overhaul. sound about right?

now i was also told that if you can shift when the engine is not running its not the synchros... true?
